Dr. Kent Forney
Dr. Kent H. Forney earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska in 1979 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 1984. In 1985, Dr. Forney moved "home" to Alliance, Nebraska where he practiced in a mixed animal practice until his move to Lincoln in April 1987.
Dr. Forney is a member of AAHA, the AVMA and the NVMA, where he served on the board of directors, and is currently a member of the Nebraska Board of Health.
Dr. Forney's special interests include dentistry, dermatology and surgery. Dr. Forney enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, speaking to various groups, schools and organizations, and was recently appointed to the Nebraska Game and Parks Board of Directors. Dr Forney and his wife, Shelley, have 3 sons. Adam, Eric and Shane.
Dr. Forney attended an intensive continuing education in dentistry and oral surgery at the Animal Dental Training Center in Baltimore, MD. Since its inception, the ADTC has offered many weekend, multi-ability level courses in dental radiology, oral pathology, oral surgery, restorations, and endodontics for general practitioners, technicians, and practitioners with a special interest in dentistry. The Center offers advanced Master level courses for individuals who have proficiency in dentistry. In addition to its regular schedule of courses, the ADTC has hosted the ACVS's Arlington VA's wet lab in dentistry and provides yearly mock preparatory examinations to help candidates prepare for taking the dental specialty boards.
